Paraphrasing Nice 'n' Smooth's legendary hook, "The young to the old"! Only that these beats really aren't nice and smooth. They're heavy, slow, thick and undercooked. With clipping drums and layers of samples - some weird, some obvious.

nibo is a collaboration between two generations: a veteran and a youngblood, Borka and nikson (with a gap of more than 20 years between them). Swiftly sending Ableton files back-and-forth, they established an effective workflow that focuses more on layers and patterns than on details. niks was providing most of the rhythmic tricks and Borka most of the samples. No overthinking, just a non-stop exchange of simple ideas, delivered in gaps of sometimes just a few hours.
